Final January, when Creed director Ryan Coogler joined up with Marvel to direct Black Panther, it appeared unlikely that he’d have room in his schedule to make the inevitable Creed sequel. Now, /Movie is reporting that Sylvester Stallone—who performed supporting character Rocky Balboa within the first film—has been tapped to direct the sequel. Stallone seemingly willed himself into this place, having spent the previous couple of months posting common Instagram updates about work on Creed 2, all with none official indication that he would have something to do with the film past reprising his position as Rocky (till now).
Naturally, Stallone introduced this information with an Instagram put up, noting his pleasure at attending to work with “the extremely gifted” Michael B. Jordan once more:
With Stallone directing Creed 2, he’ll most definitely be capable of observe via on his many teases about bringing Russian baddie Ivan Drago to the brand new collection. Dolph Lundgren is likely to be slightly previous to interrupt Michael B. Jordan, however he can most likely practice some new Russian hotshot to take his place.
